Albany Family Centre was originally opened in partnership with SurestartNorth Washington and housed their Community Parenting Team. When Surestart funding came to an end Bridge gave a commitment to keep the centre open for the local community. The centre is currently undergoing a refurbishment, thanks to a grant from the Local Authority.
As well as running City of Sunderland College and FACL courses the Centre is now a UK Online Centre and thanks to a grant from NIACE we are able to run computing courses in-house and within Albany Primary School.
The centre is a base for our Bridging Out Team during the day and youth workers during the evening running the RAVE Girls Youth Club and a Mixed Youth Club.
As well as the courses, youth provision and listening service normally offered by Bridge we are also the base for Albany All Stars mother and toddler group on a Monday morning.
